Read-a-thon fundraiser

A read-a-thon that raises real money

Students read, families share a page, and supporters cheer them on with a gift. We handle the reminders, so your teachers don't have to.

How it works

  1. 1

    Create your read-a-thon

Set a goal and date, and import students or share a join code. Classes or grades can be groups with their own totals.

  2. 2

    Families share their page

Each student gets a page with their photo and goal. Parents add supporters, and we send friendly reminders.

  3. 3

    Celebrate on event day

Students read as much as they can, supporters cheer them on, and goals stretch when they're reached.

A simple way to give

Supporters give a set amount to cheer a student on, like $25 or $50, rather than a pledge per lap or per book. It's easier for families, there's nothing to tally afterward, and no one gets a surprise bill.

Make it a school-wide event

  • Kick off with an assembly and a reading goal for the whole school
  • Give classes a group total so they can race each other
  • Share milestones, like "$2,000 buys new books for every classroom library"
  • Finish with a pajama reading day for the top class

Read-a-thon questions

Do supporters pledge per lap or per book?

Not today. Supporters give a set amount, which means nothing to count afterward and no surprise bills.

Can classes compete?

Yes. Make a group for each class or grade. Each shows its own total.

Do student pages show up in Google?

No. Student pages are hidden from search engines and shared directly by families.

What does it cost?

It's free to start, with one small fee on what you raise. Donors can choose to cover it, so your school can keep every dollar.

Give them something to cheer for.

More money for your team, less work for you. Free to start.
