Getting started
How long does setup take?
Most organizers are ready in one evening. Your page stays private until you publish it.
What kinds of fundraisers can we run?
A team fundraiser with a page for every player, or one shared goal for the whole group. Either one can run a silent auction at the same time, and bids and donations count toward the same goal. A-thons run as player-page fundraisers.
How do participants join?
Import a spreadsheet, add them one by one, or share a join code so families can sign up themselves.
Can someone help me run it?
Yes. Add co-organizers. They can do everything you can, except remove you.
Can our treasurer see the money without running the fundraiser?
Yes. Add them as a treasurer. They see every gift and fee, the payouts, a printable summary and a QuickBooks file, and they can update the mailing address or bank account for the payout. If those details change, everyone on the money side is told and the payout waits a few days.
Do we need to be a registered nonprofit?
No. Teams and clubs without one can still raise money. Registered nonprofits and public schools can get Verified, usually in a minute: public schools confirm a code sent to a school email, and nonprofits are checked against IRS records. Then your pages show a Verified badge and receipts show your tax ID.
Running your fundraiser
How long should a fundraiser run?
Four weeks is a good default. You can pick any length and change the end date while it runs.
What happens when we hit our goal?
It stretches automatically, for each participant and for the whole group, so supporters always see a new finish line.
Can we split participants into groups?
Yes. Make groups for classes, squads or sections, each with its own total.
Someone handed us cash or a check. Does it count?
Yes. Record it on the Money tab and it counts toward the player's goal and the team's. There's no fee on cash or checks.
Can we hide how much each player raised?
Yes. Show every player's amount, only the top few, or none. You can also hide the player list.
Can you help us write our messages?
Yes. Get suggested wording for your story, player pages, texts to share, updates to families and thank-you notes.
How does a silent auction work?
Add items, pick when bidding ends (online or at your event), and share one link. Bidders get outbid alerts and reminders before the close. Each winner pays once for everything they won, charged automatically or by a link (your choice), with a receipt that shows each item's value.
What happens after it ends?
Reminders stop, you get a results summary, and you can share an impact report with what you raised together. Next season, copy the whole campaign in one click, and returning families can bring back their supporters.
Players and parents
Do I need a password?
No. Your invite has a button that opens your child's page in one tap. Any other time, ask for a sign-in code by email.
I have two kids in the same fundraiser. Do I need two accounts?
No. Each child gets their own invite, and either one opens a family view where you can switch between them.
How does a parent manage a child's page?
A parent can be added as an admin on the child's page to update the photo, add supporters and share the link. Invites can go to two emails, so both parents can help.
Can I reuse supporters from last year?
Yes. If your child was in an earlier fundraiser, you can copy those supporters into this one.
How do I add supporters?
Add names with an email address, a mobile number or both, one at a time or from a contacts file.
Do student pages show up in Google?
No. Student and player pages are hidden from search engines and shared directly by families.
Supporters
Is there anything extra to pay?
No tips, ever. At checkout supporters can choose to cover the costs, so the team keeps every dollar.
Will I get a receipt?
Yes, by email right after you give. For a verified nonprofit, it includes the organization's name and tax ID.
What does the Verified badge mean?
We've checked the organization: a 501(c)(3)'s tax ID against IRS records (or its IRS letter), or that a public school or district organizer can receive email at the school's address. It isn't a promise that your gift is tax-deductible.
Can I see all my gifts in one place?
Yes. Sign in with a code sent to your email to open My account. It lists every gift and auction payment made with that email, with receipts and a year-end summary for tax time.
Will my employer match my gift?
Many employers do. If the organization is verified, add your employer at checkout and your receipt will have the details your employer asks for. Matching gifts go straight to the organization.
Can I give anonymously?
Yes. Tick "Show me as Anonymous" at checkout and your name won't appear on the page.
I don't recognize a charge. What do I do?
Your receipt shows how the charge appears on your card statement. If a gift is disputed with your bank, we email and text you its details, so you can tell your bank whether it was you.
How do I stop texts or emails?
Reply STOP to any text, or use the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any email.
Pricing
Is there a setup fee or contract?
No. Creating a campaign is free and you can stop at any time. You only pay when donations come in.
Do you ask donors for a tip?
Never. Donors can choose to cover the actual costs at checkout, so your team keeps every dollar of their gift.
Is it the same price for auctions?
Yes. Player-page drives, group goals and silent auctions all have the same simple price.
Do we need a nonprofit tax ID?
No. Schools and nonprofits get receipts with their tax ID, and groups without one can still raise money.
When do we get paid?
In one full payout after your fundraiser ends, by direct deposit or check to your organization. We don't hold back part of it for later.
